My son is obsessed with socks. I mean it. Once, on a family holiday, he refused to get dressed on day two after realising I only packed one pair of his favorites. We had tears, threats, arguments… until I gave in and let him wear the same pair day after day. For a week.

When I got home I realised: this stuff really matters to him! It’s easy to think kids don’t care about how they look and will be happy with what parents choose for them, but some children are not made this way. Some kids are so aware of how they look and it’s really important to them to have a creative outlet for their natural instincts and interests in colour, print or fashion. I feel it’s especially important to support this in boys too, before they become self-conscious of ‘flamboyant’ behaviour in their teenage years.

Since then, we’ve been through countless pairs of socks, in every shape, size and colour. He loves to match them with outfits, mismatch them with other pairs, combine them with sliders or complementary footwear - you name it, he’s done it. Like I said, he’s obsessed.

The brand was born when we both spotted this beautiful pair of women’s yoga socks in an independent boutique on holiday. He instantly loved them and luckily enough, his feet were big enough to wear the adult size. I had never seen anything like them in the UK, and certainly not for kids.

He loves trampolining and, as it’s a unisex sport, I wanted to support him with this as much as possible. When he wore them for the first time to his trampolining class, everyone commented on them. I realised that they’d be great for the gymnastics group next door, too. And my toddler who sometimes slips on wooden floors at home. And my eldest son who wanted to try grip socks inside his football boots to help with stability. It felt like the universe was telling me to create this for others, like it was meant to be.
